Travis Luther is a born-and-raised Floridian and self-taught artist who has turned his passion for fishing and creativity into a full-time career.
What began as a personal outlet has grown into a body of work that blends fine art with the lifestyle of life on the water—capturing the beauty, grit, and stories behind it all.
From bold, 3-D sculptural pieces to detailed 2-D paintings, Travis now focuses on custom, hand-painted YETI coolers and backpacks, artwork on designer handbags, and original wall art. His subjects often reflect the world he knows best: sea life, birds, and the raw character of coastal Florida.
As both a fisherman and artist, Travis finds meaning in preserving moments through artwork—whether it’s a painted cooler that’s part of the journey or a custom piece that sparks a memory.
He frequently paints live and enjoys sharing his process, passion, and finished work on social media using the hashtag #TravisLutherArt

From the Flats to the Studio: How St. Augustine's Fly Fishing Scene Ignites My 3D Artistic Passion"
St. Augustine, with its rich history and picturesque landscapes, has a way of capturing hearts. For me, it's not just the cobblestone streets or the ancient fort that inspire; it's the dance between water and sky, the artistry of angling in the salt-flavored breeze. Here, amidst the marshes and under the Floridian sun, my fly fishing experiences evolve into vibrant 3D artworks.
The Tug of Inspiration:
Every fly angler understands the thrill of the tug on the line. It's an electric moment, a heartbeat that resonates through rod and reel. When I stand on the flats, casting to tailing redfish, I feel a connection that transcends the physical. It's a dance of energy, a primal rhythm that speaks to the very core of my being.
Translating Motion into Artwork:
In the studio, that rhythm finds form. I build and paint with an understanding born from hours spent tracking fish through the shallows. The curve of a tail, the arch of a dorsal fin, each movement captured in my work.
Colors of the Tide:
St. Augustine's waters hold a palette that no artist's studio can match. The aquamarines, the teals, the vibrant greens of the grass flats – they seep into my memory and emerge in my art. Each piece carries a hint of the areas spectrum, a tribute to the canvas on which I cast my flies.
The Soul of the Catch:
When I release a fish back into the embrace of the marsh, it's a bittersweet farewell. Yet, it's in those moments that my mind captures the essence of each species. The spirit of the catch finds its way into my Artwork, breathing life into the wood and paint.
A Reflection of Conservation:
St. Augustine's fragile ecosystems remind me of the delicate balance we strive to protect. Through my art, I aim to raise awareness, to preserve the sanctuaries that foster these angling experiences. Each Painting is a call to action, a plea to safeguard our natural treasures that we cherish,
Conclusion:
St. Augustine isn't just a city; it's a sanctuary of inspiration. Its waters, its wildlife, its history – they shape my art and, in turn, my art becomes a testament to the beauty that surrounds us. As I cast my flies on the flats, I'm reminded that each ripple holds a story, each fish a journey. And with every painting, I aim to share a piece of that story with the world.
